Area Hikes

The Moab area offers endless hiking. These are some of our favorite area hikes.

Hidden Valley

Grandstaff Canyon

Grandstaff Canyon

Hidden Valley is one of the excellent hikes located less than two miles from Red Moon Lodge. It begins with difficulty up a 500 foot ascent along the sides of the red rocks. This hike offers excellent views along the entire hike and can go for miles or end after a few.

Grandstaff Canyon

Grandstaff Canyon

Grandstaff Canyon

Grandstaff Canyon is located under ten minutes from Red Moon Lodge. The trail is mostly shaded and cooler in summer months. The hike ends (out and back) after two miles at a beautiful arch. This area is commonly used for rappelling adventures.

Corona Arch

Grandstaff Canyon

Dead Horse Point

The hike to Corona Arch is under four miles, out and back, and mostly easy. However, there are a few points where steep grades have made steps and secure railings necessary. There is no shade on this hike, so summer months can be extreme!

Dead Horse Point

Dead Horse Point

Dead Horse Point

Dead Horse Point is about 40 minutes from Red Moon Lodge. While there are some very accessible, smaller paths in the area, it is really a scenic over-look.

The La Sal's

Dead Horse Point

The La Sal's

The La Sal Mountains offer a brilliant contrast to the desert setting of the Moab Valley. It is a wonderful area to explore on exceptionally warm days.
